On 20 June 2018, Kokstad Regional Court convicted and sentenced Lindiwe Nogwaba (26) to 10 years imprisonment for rape. The sentence emanates from the incident that occurred in the night of 11 July 2017 where a 17 year old victim was allegedly raped by her boyfriend.
The victim alleged that on the said date she went to her boyfriend homestead, on arrival at the house the boyfriend started smoking different drugs. After he was finish smoking, he grabbed the victim by force and raped her.
The victim managed to report the incident at Kokstad police station and the docket was transferred to Kokstad Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for investigation.
The accused was then arrested and made several court appearance until he was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
