High police visibility and tight security at the Moses Mabhida Stadium during the Telkom Knockout Semi Final soccer match between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates led to a successful and incident free match.

Police in KwaZulu-Natal with other security agencies ensured that spectators as well the players were safe. A total of 10 suspects aged between 20 and 45 were arrested and they will be appearing in the Durban Magistrates’ Court on 26 November 2018.

Seven suspects were arrested for ticket resale, two suspects were arrested for selling fake tickets and the tenth one was arrested for pitch invasion.

There were no serious incidents reported during the match due to the high security presence and visibility.
