Taxi  crashed into family home, one child killed

Early this morning, 14 December 2016 at approximately 6am, a taxi driver drove a taxi into a home in Burlington, Shallcross where three children were asleep at the time on their bed in the bedroom.

The impact of the accident caused the wall of the home to collapse onto the children.

One child aged 10, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Two children aged 12 and 14 sustained injuries and were taken to the R K Khan Hospital for medical treatment.

The driver fled from the scene. SAPS Chatsworth is investigating a case of culpable homicide and related charges in terms of the Road Traffic Act. #CrimeStop
