Earlier this morning, just before 8am, Mi7 National Group’s Emergency Medical Services was dispatched after reports of an active shooting event on the N3 at the Market Road offramp.
Mi7 medics arrived to find that a shootout had occurred between Pietermaritzburg police and suspects they were pursuing. One suspect was injured during the shootout, sustaining bullet wounds. He was treated by Mi7 medics before being taken to hospital under police guard.
A second suspect was also arrested.
Luckily, no civilians were injured.
