Durban Metro Police Service Trio Crime Unit was involved in a confrontation with a suspect linked to the killing of one of our late senior member.
When approached by our Crime Prevention Team, the suspect drew a firearm and shot at our officer.
Fortunately, the officer’s bulletproof vest prevented any serious injury.
The team acted swiftly, and a 11-year-old child was also injured during the shootout.
The suspect was fatally shot during the exchange.
One firearm recovered on the scene.
