On 14 June 2017, at approximately 04:00, an Ethekwini Inner West and Outer West Cluster Intelligence driven operation, together with members of the SAPS and Durban Metro, apprehended a 37-year-old suspect, who was found in possession of an AK47 rifle.
The planned operation apprehended the suspect at St Wendelins, in the Mariannhill area, after a reliable source informed the SAPS that the suspect was in possession of illegal firearms. The suspect could possibly be linked to business robberies within the Ethekwini area.
