Police in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested a 21-year-old suspect in the KwaDabeka area for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. Preliminary investigations have linked the suspect to an attempted murder case that occurred on March 17, 2026, on Thulani Masango Road in KwaDabeka.
On March 23, 2026, police acting on intelligence regarding a suspect in possession of an unlicensed firearm proceeded to a hostel in KwaDabeka. After identifying the suspect, officers conducted a search and found a pistol with three rounds of ammunition in his possession.
The suspect was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as the attempted murder of a 33-year-old man. He is scheduled to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
