Police officers from the KwaMbonambi Stock Theft Unit were conducting operations along the R102 in Mtunzini when they witnessed a vehicle transporting cattle. The said vehicle was stopped and searched. Six cattle were found being transported in the vehicle.
On questioning the suspects, they failed to provide police with a satisfactory explanation on how they came into possession of the cattle. The suspects age 32 and 39 were arrested in terms of Stock Theft Act, for being found in possession of suspected stolen animals and failing to account for their possession of the stock.
They are expected to appear in the Mtunzini Magistrates Court. The KwaMbonambi Stock Theft Unit is continuing with their investigating to establish the ownership of these cattle.
