Police advised motorists to use alternative routes, seeing that Bellair Road and Jan Smuts Highway in Durban were closed because of protests by squatters.
About 200 squatters blocked the roads with trees and burning tyres.
The squatters come from the nearby Cato Crest “informal neighborhood”.
People die because of the “unlawful power connections”, but it is after all the community itself making these connections, and now they are demonstrating against it. Suddenly, apparently this is having a shocking effect on them.
