A three year old little girl has been killed and her six year old brother seriously injured after being attacked by a family dog on Locke Place in Mayville, Durban area on Saturday afternoon.
Just before 5pm Rescue Care Paramedics raced to the scene in Mayville. On arrival they found a three year old child who had sustained critical injuries.
Immediately Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked on the child however the child was in Cardiac Arrest. After forty minutes of resuscitation efforts the child was unfortunately declared deceased on the scene.
Her six year old brother who was also attacked was rushed to a nearby hospital before paramedics arrived he had sustained serious injuries.
SAPS and SPCA were on the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
