Shot suspect escapes from KwaZulu Natal hospital

Pumlani Ntuli was shot by a member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) on June 14, 2016 in Greylands-Tongaat, after he stabbed an elderly male and attempted to stab a Reaction Officer during a house break-in and robbery.

The suspect was being treated for his injuries at Osindisweni Hospital in KwaZulu Natal, and was being guarded by Officers from the South African Police.

He managed to escape from the hospital. Details surrounding the escape are unclear at this stage.

The suspect is believed to be linked to several cases of robberies and house break-ins.

Update:

The suspect has been arrested by members of the South African Police at the Tongaat Clinic.

Members of the public called in the police after the suspect was brought in by a minibus.

According to the driver, the suspect was found unconscious in Verulam. He was then transported to the clinic for medical attention.
