Earlier this evening, IPSS Medical Rescue and IPSS Security Tactical Team responded to reports of a shooting in Belvedere in the Tongaat area.
On arrival, it was established that a man had shot his wife before turning the gun on himself.
The man was found to be in a critical condition and was stabilised on scene by IPSS Medical advanced life support. He was transported to a suitable facility for further care.
Sadly, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was declared on scene.
The scene has been handed over to SAPS who will investigate further.
