A Security Officer was killed after he was shot in the head in Phoenix – KZN on 12 May 2018.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa responded to the scene after being informed of a man lying on the road bleeding from an injury to his head. Medics were called to the scene and it was establised that the man had sustained a single gunshot wound to his head. He showed no signs of life and was declared deceased.
A relative of the deceased was driving past the scene when he stopped and confirmed his identity. He explained that the man who is in his late twenties had left his home in KwaMashu at approximately 16:30 this afternoon. The victim was a Security Officer who was employed at a fruit and veg business in the vicinity of where his body was found. Robbery does not appear to be the motive for the murder as the deceased was in possession of his Samsung cellphone and jewelry.
A case of murder is being investigated.
