Around 09:45am this morning ALS Paramedics together with Amawele Medics responded to a shooting incident on Lenny Naidu Drive in Chatsworth, South of Durban.
Medics arrived on scene to find that there had been an alleged robbery at a Tote and a security officer is believed to have tried to stop the suspects and he was shot in the process. The man believed to be in his forties had sustained a gunshot wound to his chest and unfortunately there was nothing Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene. One other bystander had sustained minor injuries and was stabilized on the scene before being transported to a nearby Hospital for the further care that he required.
At this stage the exact events leading up to the shooting is unknown however SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further.
