A security officer is fighting for his life after being shot by an alleged patron at a popular pub in Gillits on Friday evening.
The incident occurred just before 11 p.m., prompting multiple calls for emergency assistance. ALS Paramedics rushed to the scene, where they found several security personnel and South African Police Service (SAPS) officers already in attendance.
The victim, a man believed to be in his thirties, sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen following an alleged altercation with a patron. Advanced Life Support Paramedics stabilized the critically injured officer before transporting him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
