On Thursday, 19 September 2019 the Pietermaritzburg Regional Court sentenced Sibusiso Mngadi (31) to 15 years imprisonment. Three years were suspended, which means that he will serve 12 years direct imprisonment.
His sentence came after the court heard how Vincent Hadebe (43) was killed on the night of 27 February 2019. It is alleged the deceased and the accused were on duty as security guards at a farm on Dargle Road in Boston. Following an argument Mngadi, produced a firearm and shot Mngadi three times on the head, chest and arm. He was certified dead at the scene of crime.
Boston police were immediately contacted and a case of murder was opened. The accused was arrested at the scene. He made several court appearances until he was sentenced. The court also declared him unfit to possess a firearm.
