An operation was conducted at Ntuzuma area, where police officers witnessed unknown suspects robbing a man of his belongings at gunpoint. The victim was robbed of his bag and cellphone.
Police pursued the suspects and they fired shots at the police.
Ntuzuma police retaliated, wounding one of the two suspects and were immediately arrested.
The firearm was recovered from the injured suspect and he was taken to hospital for treatment under police guard.
They will be charged for armed robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm.
Suspects will appear at the Ntuzuma Magistrates’ Court soon.
