Quick action leads to arrest of two suspects in Pinetown

Vigilant Blue Security armed response officers and community members arrested two suspects in Pinetown on Saturday.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said an alert armed response officer noticed a suspect jumping over a wall out of a property in Myrtle Road at round 5am.

“The suspect had jumped over the back palisade fence of the property to gain entry and filled a black garbage bin with spotlights from the property. Our officer arrested him when he spotted him fleeing the property over the wall with the black bag,” Mathios said. “The lights were recovered and the suspect was handed over to Pinetown SAPS officers who attended the scene.”

In a separate incident in Pinetown, an armed response officer noticed a suspect running away from a business premises in Livingstone Road at around 2.45pm.

“A staff member was chasing the suspect, who had broken a concrete fence trying to gain entry onto the premises. The suspect was arrested and released on instruction of the client. Nothing was reported stolen,” Mathios said.

Another suspect was tracked down in Pinetown after using a stolen credit card to buy lunch.
