Coordinated intelligence driven operations continue to root-out illicit drug activities in the EThekwini Inner South Cluster policing precinct.

On 27 September 2019, police officers from the Cluster Task Team arrested two suspects in Welbedacht East after receiving information on drug trade. Police seized 1537 capsules of heroin, 18 pieces of rock cocaine and five mandrax tablets with a total street value of R 30 000.

The two suspects aged 29 and 56 were charged for possession of drugs. They will appear at the Chatsworth Magistrates Court soon.

Police proceeded to Tranquil Street in Croftdene where a 27 year old male was arrested after he was found with 42 capsules of heroin in his possession. He was also charged for possession of drugs and will appear at the Chatsworth Magistrates Court on Monday, 30 September 2019.

During the operations, police further arrested two suspects who were operating illegal liquor outlets in Welbedacht.
