A motorist was hijacking during rush hour traffic in Wiltshire Avenue in Pinetown on 22 March 2017.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said that the woman was hijacked while her vehicle was idling in a traffic queue as she drove to work.

“Hijackers held a gun to her head through the open window. A motorist who saw what was happening hooted and shouted to distract the hijackers, who then pointed a firearm in his direction. The hijackers then continued to force her out of the driver’s seat and sped off in her vehicle,” he said.

Mathios said the Good Samaritan who witnessed the hijacking took the victim to the Pinetown police station to open a case.
