A Pilot and his student were killed in a helicopter crash next to the Umgeni River, Durban on Monday morning 3 May 2021.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), several other Emergency Services and Law Enforcement Agencies are standing off at the scene.
The chopper crashed in overgrown vegetation next to the Umgeni river below the N2 before the Inanda Road off ramp.
Due to the location of the crash site, Rescue Technicians utilised boats to cross the river to reach the aircraft.
Both Pilot and passenger were assessed by Paramedics and declared deceased at the scene.
