A 42 year old male has been attacked and stabbed on his head and face in Ottawa, KZN by a lone suspect this afternoon, 8 July 2018.

Reaction Unit South Africa received the call for assistance at approx 16:32 and Reaction Officers were despatched to the Ottawa Railway Station to attend to the Robbery. Upon arrival Officers found a man bleeding profusely from open wounds on his head and face.

The victim, Patrick Gumene explained that he had just got off the train after visiting his family at a farm when he was attacked by an african male with a broken bottle. After stabbing him, the suspect kicked him in the face and head and fled with his shoes, wallet and his work bag.

The victim is a Pinetown resident and lives in the Ottawa area on weekdays for work purposes.

Paramedics were called to the scene, treated the victim and transported him to a local hospital.
