Nongoma tavern murder, man gets 15 years imprisonment

On 19 July 2018, Nongoma Regional Court convicted and sentenced Mbhobho Dumisani Masondo (26), to 15 years imprisonment for murder.

It is alleged on Tuesday, 9 May 2015 at 20:20, the deceased Sifundo Sibiya (18), was at a local tavern at Mjeni area, Usuthu, Nongoma playing cards when Masondo entered the tavern and took the cards.

Sibiya demanded his cards back when the accused fatally stabbed him in the chest.

Masondo was arrested at Kwaceza on Wednesday, 10 May 2018. The accused made several court appearance until he was sentenced.
