The last oncologist, or cancer specialist, vacated his post in Durban last Friday, which means that Durban’s public health sector no longer has any employed oncologists.
Doctors have shown that they can no longer perform their work due to the condition of equipment that is outdated and out of order.
Patients will now be treated in Pietermaritzburg according to Natal’s MEC, Sibongiseni Dhlomo.
