Fezile Somadlangathi (26) appeared at the Flagstaff Magistrate’s Court on 26 January 2021 and he was remanded in custody until 4 February 2021 for further investigation and a formal bail application.
The accused was arrested by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team on 24 January 2021 in connection with the alleged murder of Warrant Officer Noxolo Mesilane (41). The body of the deceased was found inside the house at Qhasa Village on 15 January 2021.
Further investigation led police to a soccer ground not far from the scene where her police vehicle was found abandoned. The body of a 28-year-old male was found slumped in the police vehicle. The deceased had sustained gunshot wounds.
Investigation continues whilst additional arrests are imminent.
