Ntuthuzelo Mangala and Songezo Mangala both aged (26) appeared briefly at New Brighton Magistrate court on 3 August 2020, for murder and attempted murder.

The case against the Managala brothers has been postponed to 4 August 2020 for legal representation.

Ntuthuzelo and Songezo are accused for the death of former Kabega Park SAPS Sergeant Siyabonga Wakula (34) at a house in Nosidima Street in Kwazakhele on the 21 July 2020.

His 56-year-old brother was critically wounded in the same incident and he is recovering at a local hospital.

The two suspects were arrested on Saturday after the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation received information of the suspect’s whereabouts in Mthatha.

With the assistance of the Queenstown Vispol members, the two brothers were intercepted in Queenstown while driving to Cape Town.

A firearm was found hidden inside the vehicle. Investigations are still continuing.
