The popular and much loved minister (dominee) of the Amanzimtoti NG Church, Liezel de Jager (38), was found murdered in the yard of her home in Dan Pienaar street, Athlone Park, Amanzimtoti around 07:00 on Wednesday morning 13 October 2021.
She was found with strangulation marks around her neck and Police has opened a murder case.
She went out early in the morning to jog with friends and she returned in her vehicle after the jogging. It doesn’t appear as if anything was stolen.
Liezel was also the dominee at the Kanoeneiland NG Church Upington before taking up her current post.
