Mountain Rise man arrested for contravening the Medicine Control Act

An intelligence driven operation was conducted on 24 November 2021, just after midnight by Mountain Rise SAPS and the Pietermaritzburg K9 Unit.

Police were following up on information about a man that was selling medicines in the Mountain Rise policing area.

The team pounced on the unsuspecting man at Bombay Road in Northdale.

The 25-year-old man was found in possession of a seven Broncleer medicine bottles, 146 Phoenorant Broncleer medicine bottles and loose dagga. The suspect was placed under arrest.

Cash amounting to R20,430-00 was also seized from the suspect.

The suspect is appearing in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court for contravening the Medicine Control Act.
