Yesterday, 18 August 2016, at about 06:00, the members of Ndwedwe Crime Prevention Unit, North of Durban assisted by other units arrested two suspects, believed to be mother and son, for drug possession.

Suspects aged 22 and 51 will be charged for possession of dagga and will appear at Ndwedwe Magistrates’ Court today.

The members were conducting an operation at Umona area, Ndwedwe when they followed up information about drugs in the area. The members proceeded to an identified homestead where they searched the houses. 33 bags of dagga with the street value of about R100 000 were found in a house which was locked. This week, two suspects were arrested between Vryheid and Pongola road by Louwsburg police after they were allegedly transporting dagga to the street value of more than R500 000 from Mozambique to Nquthu.
