Police are appealing to the members of the community to come forward with any information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspects who allegedly killed yet more family members in KwaZulu-Natal. On Friday, 19 August 2016 at about 22:00, Ndwedwe police received a complaint of murder at Mzunga area, Ndwedwe.

The police officers proceeded to the scene where they found three deceased family members who were identified as Thandokwakhe Bhengu (35) and her two children Lindelani Bhengu (16) and Lungisani Bhengu (8). Thandokwakhe Bhengu and Lindelani Bhengu were fatally shot while the body of Lungisani was found hanged on the pole with the rope. Three counts of murder were opened at Ndwedwe Police station for further investigations. The motive for this gruesome tragedy is still unknown.

This killing follows an incident where three family members were killed in Melmoth last week Thursday. Four suspects were arrested and are due to appear in the Melmoth Magistrates’ Court today. Police are appealing to anyone who might have information on suspects to contact the local police or Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.
