The bodies of two men believed to be linked to a spate of house break-ins and robberies in Mslasini, Verulam was discovered dumped on the roadside after they were killed in a mob attack on Wednesday evening 6 May 2020.

At approximately 19:54 Captain Mark Prakasim from the Verulam SAPS contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) requesting medical assistance for the two men. On arrival Medics assessed both individuals and found that they had died due to the extent of their injuries.

It was established that the deceased were part of a four man gang that were involved in a spate of robberies and house break-ins in the area. The community mobilized and apprehended members of the gang.

The mob began assaulting the two while leading them to other houses in the area in search of their accomplices and goods that they had stolen.
