Netcare 911 responded to reports of a drowning near the Umhlanga Lagoon.
Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male aged mid thirties was found by passersby earlier in the morning lying unresponsive on the beach.
Lifeguards had alerted emergency services.
The patient was assessed on scene by Paramedics and found to have no signs of life and was declared deceased.
Circumstances leading up to the man being found deceased on the beach are unknown however the SAPS was on scene and will be investigating.
