The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula has commended police officers for working tirelessly in tracing the suspect who allegedly killed four children in Wyebank, Durban.
On 3 September 2019, the suspect fetched the three children, aged between 4 and 6 years, from school. Later in the day the three children were found hanging inside their home. It is alleged that the suspect proceeded to another school where the 16 year old was schooling and also fetched the teenage girl.
A missing persons case was reported to the Pinetown police station and a search ensued. The body of the teenager was later found in New Germany. A docket with four counts of murder was opened at the Pinetown police station for investigation.
The search for the suspect began in the evening on 3 September 2019, up until the afternoon of 4 September 2019, when the 41 year old suspect was arrested at Sub 5, KwaDabeka.
The suspect will appear in Pinetown Magistrate Court soon facing four counts of murder.
