Two brothers Andrew Brooks (25) and Ross (27) were attacked by several suspects who accessed their house situated on Glückstadt, a farm in the Zululand district on Monday, April 24.
The suspects, armed with handguns, found Ross in his room, beat him continually and burned him with a hot iron then tied him up. The suspects searched the house and forced Ross to show them where the safe was hidden.
In the meantime, Andrew who sleeps in an outside room heard noises and went to investigate. When the suspects saw him, they shot at him, and Andrew launched a counterattack causing the suspects to flee the scene.
At the time of the incident, their mother Bronwyn Brooks was not at home.
The Police and community responded to the incident and are currently investigating the matter.
No arrests have yet been made.
