Man survives assassination attempt in Waterloo

A man was seriously injured after he was shot in an assassination attempt in Waterloo – KZN.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from a resident requesting assistance for the victim who was lying bleeding on Banana Road. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on the scene.

It was established that the victim was expedited to the hospital by Police before the arrival of RUSA Members. According to residents, the occupants of a blue Nissan Almera (registration unknown) confronted the victim on Strawberry Road.

They fired multiple shots in his direction before they sped off. The bleeding male fled approximately 500 meters before he collapsed. He requested that Law Enforcement not be advised of the shooting.

The reason for his appeal could not be established. Reaction Officers recovered two spent 9mm cartridges at the scene.

An unoccupied house was struck by three stray bullets….
