At 21H36 Thursday evening Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in Northdale, Pietermaritzburg.
Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male was stabbed in his head in what was said to be a hijacking.
The patient was assessed on scene but later declined ambulance transportation to hospital.
