Phoenix detectives are making an appeal to the members of the community to assist with regards to a suspect, Ashraf Gany (45), in the attached picture who is sought by police for alleged attempted murder. He is dark in complexion and wellbuilt. He previously resided in Eastbury in Phoenix. A warrant for his arrest has been issued by the court.
It is alleged that on 30 September 2018 at midnight, Gany shot and wounded his former wife and her acquaintance whilst they were seated in a vehicle at Foresthaven Drive in Phoenix.
The victims sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen. He then sped off in his getaway vehicle and has since been on the run from police.
An attempted murder case was opened at the Phoenix police station. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is requested to contact Detective Warrant Officer Perumal on 079 420 3671/ 031 508 2327 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
