Man shot dead in Pietermaritzburg CBD

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was killed on the 6th of December following a shooting incident at the corners of Church and Flatter Road in Pietermaritzburg CBD.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 07h05 to find the body of a man lying on the sidewalk.

Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained several gunshot wounds, leaving him in a critical condition. The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions. During treatment, paramedics found that the patient’s vital signs were rapidly diminishing.

CPR and further advanced life support interventions were initiated in an effort to revive the patient.

Unfortunately, after some time, no vital signs returned and the man was declared dead.

The details surrounding the incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
