At 10H30 Thursday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting in the Umhlanga CBD.
Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male sustained moderate head injuries after it is suspected he was pistol whipped in an armed robbery at a jewelry store.
The patient was treated on scene and transported by Netcare 911 ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
All necessary authorities are on scene.
