A nineteen year old male who was knocked by a train on May 28, 2016 at approximately 16:00 was found by a passerby at approx. 05:15 this morning.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from an unknown male who found a man lying near a the railway line in Bur-breeze, Tongaat in Kwazulu Natal. The man pulled the injured male away from the tracks and contacted the RUSA Operations Center for help.

Reaction Officers and Paramedics were dispatched to the scene and after a quick search, managed to locate the caller and the injured man.

Paramedics treated and stabilized the man on scene before transporting him to Osindisweni Hospital in Verulam. The male suffered head injuries and a broken left leg.

According to the victim, he was knocked down by a Durban bound train as he was crossing the railway line.

He spent the night alongside the tracks and was found 13 hours later.
