A man has been killed and a female has been seriously injured in a shooting incident in Ferguson Road, Umbilo on Sunday afternoon around 4pm.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that two people had sustained gunshot wounds.
A Male in his thirties had sustained a single gunshot wound to his upper body, Paramedics assessed him but unfortunately there was nothing more paramedics could do and he was declared deceased on the scene.
A female in her twenties also sustained a gunshot wound to her lower extremities.
She was stabilised on the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that she required.
At this stage the events leading up to the shooting are unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
