A man, believed to be in his 40s, was killed this morning during an alleged robbery outside a bank on Prospect Road in Durban South, KwaZulu-Natal.
At approximately 11h57, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man lying in the parking lot. The man was being treated by a paramedic from VEMA.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he was in a critical condition, having sustained a gunshot wound to his chest.
Treatment and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated in an effort to stabilize the patient’s vital signs. After a few minutes, the patient’s vital signs diminished and CPR interventions were started.
Unfortunately, after 30 minutes, no vital signs returned and the man was pronounced dead.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
