An unidentified male was killed after he was electrocuted by an illegal electricity connection at an informal settlement in Canelands, Verulam on Saturday morning 8 December 2018.
At approximately 05:53 the RUSA Verulam Operations Centre received a call from a resident in the area requesting assistance for an individual who was suspected of being electrocuted. Upon arrival Paramedics from the Provincial Ambulance Service were on scene and had declared him deceased.
He suspected of being electrocuted by an illegal electricity connection however this is yet to be confirmed. The deceased’s identity has not been established at this stage.
Police are investigating further.
