Pictured lying on the ground is 24 year old William Mthembu who was found with several stab wounds and a broken hand in Cottonlands, KZN on the morning of 18 September 2018. Reaction Unit South Africa received the call from a construction site manager who reported a deceased person alongside a dirt road. Reaction Officers arrived on scene at 06:33 and found that the victim was alive.

He suffered stab wounds to his face and thigh. His left hand was broken and he had several open wounds to his body. Officers summoned an ambulance to the scene and the man was stabilized and transported to hospital.

According to the Mthembu he was kidnapped by four african males from his home in Cottonlands. They forced him into white VW Golf and drove him to a isolated area approx two Kilometers from his home where the men used a tree branch and an iron pipe to assault him.

They then stoned him several times and stabbed him before dumping him near a dirt road.

The injured man who is a self employed car guard in the Tongaat Cbd further explained that the men had accused him of housebreaking after he was seen in the vicinity of the complainants home. He denied any involvement in criminal activities.

The suspects are known to the victim.
