A 30 year old man was seriously injured after he was hacked with a sword during a fight on Maple Drive in Trenance Park on Sunday morning 31 May 2020.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 09:40 and found the man lying on the ground surrounded by a crowd. The SAPS were in attendance. The individual was injured on his neck, shoulder and wrist. He was bleeding profusely from his injuries and was transported privately to hospital.

Circumstances leading up to the incident are unclear at this stage however it has been confirmed that the injured man and the suspect were involved in a fight when the suspect drew a sword and hacked the victim multiple times.

The injured man was also in possession of a knife. One person was taken in for questioning by Police.
