The Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit arrested a 40-year-old man on Wednesday, 2 July 2025, in connection with drug dealing and the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
According to police reports, officers were conducting an operation in Phoenix when they received a tip-off about a suspect dealing drugs at Roofgreen Place. Upon arrival, authorities searched the location and apprehended the man.
During the search, police recovered drugs with an estimated street value of R70,000, along with two pistols and ammunition.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Phoenix Magistrate’s Court today, 3 July 2025, to face charges related to drug dealing and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Authorities have commended the swift action of the officers involved and reiterated their commitment to cracking down on drug-related crimes and illegal firearms in the province.
