Nkosinathi Mahlaba Mbatha (43) appeared before the Ekuvukeni Magistrates Court on 10 August 2021 for stock theft. He was granted a bail of R1500-00. The matter was adjourned to 1 September 2021.

His arrest follows a case of stock theft that was opened at Ekuvukeni SAPS on 8 August 2021.

The complainant alleged that on 7 August 2021, he went to check for his stock at a farm in Ekuvukeni when he noticed that two cattle were missing. He checked everywhere but could not find the missing stock. A case of stock theft was opened at Ekuvukeni SAPS.

The docket was transferred to the Ladysmith Stock Theft Unit for further investigation.

On 9 August 2021, Ladysmith Stock Theft Unit received information and the accused was located at Limehill in Ladysmith. He was found with two stolen cattle and was placed under arrest.
