A shoplifter who had stolen several slabs of Kit Kat chocolates was run over by a truck while making a getaway from store security on Wick Street in the Verulam CBD on Friday 28 September 2018.
At approximately 16:43 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene after receiving a call of pedestrian being run over by a truck outside First National Bank.
Upon arrival it was established that the pedestrian was a shoplifter who had stolen several slabs of Kit Kat chocolates from a supermarket.
As he exited the store he was confronted by security. In an attempt to evade arrest he ran across the road when he was run over. Two other men believed to be his accomplices picked up the injured suspect and assisted him in making a getaway. The stolen chocolates were dropped at the scene.
Reaction Officers conducted a search for the suspect however no arrests were made.
