The KFC on Ireland Street in the Verulam CBD – KZN was robbed by four armed suspects this morning.
The suspects entered the fast food outlet while staff were in the process of setting up. Two of the robbers removed rifles from a large bag while their accomplices produced handguns.
They assaulted employees and the private Security Officer and demanded access to the safe. They fled with the victims cellphones after they were informed that the keys for the safe were not on the premises.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance at approximately 06:09. Reaction Officers and RUSA Paramedics were immediately dispatched and on arrival provided First Aid to the injured.
It could not be confirmed if the suspects fled in a vehicle or on foot….
