An Isipingo Beach resident tragically lost his life when he was stabbed after he intervened during an attempted house break-in on Dick King Avenue on Friday afternoon.
Cliff Naidoo spotted a suspect breaking into a flat below his premises. He alerted the suspect to his presence and dashed to chase the suspect off.
He pursued the suspect into a nearby lane when the suspect turned around and stabbed him in the chest. The suspect ran off into the dense bushes nearby.
Locals nearby attempted to assist the stabbed victim and he was rushed to hospital but he sadly passed away.
Alpha Alarms control room was contacted by a concerned resident and Alpha armed response officers were immediately dispatched to the scene after the private security service provider failed to respond swiftly.
The Alphas searched the area for the suspect but no arrest was made. The suspect is believed to have been terrorizing community members especially females in the area for the past week.
The suspect is believed to be Coloured/Indian, was last seen attired in white ¾ pants, black shirt and was carrying a black backpack.
He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be confronted.
